Welcome to your local Bike Shop South Perth Ride web site.

The Saturday rides leave from the Bunnings car park outside the Garland Cycleworks South Perth bike shop, formerly Bike Force South Perth at 7.00am with great coffee and muffins served at the shop after the ride.

The rides have an emphasis on safety and fun, and no rider is left behind – even for flats.

If you are thinking of getting a road bike, then the Garland Cycleworks will be happy to loan you a bike for the ride so you can get a feel for the road and allowing Nick (Garland Cycleworks store owner and coach of the beginner group) to observe and recommend various suitable options before you buy.  Riding a road bike is way more than knowing your 105’s from your Dura Ace, it is about comfort safety and enjoyment, all of which the guys in Garland Cycleworks take very seriously.

There are currently about 100+ riders each week which are split into seven groups, each lead by an experienced rider -

• Beginner group does a ride of approximately 35km at an average of 24 to 26km hour.
• Beginner/Novice group is for those beginners who have had a couple of weeks in the beginner group and are looking for a bit more of a challenge.  Riding 35km to 40km at an average speed of 25 to 27kms hour.
• Novice group does a ride of approximately 40km at an average of 26km to 28km hour.
• Intermediate group riding up to approximately 50kms at around a 28km average
• Intermediate/Advanced group riding up to approximately 50kms at around a 28km to 30km average
• Advanced group also doing about 60 ro 65km at a slightly faster 30kmh
• Fast group doing a minimum of 65km at 32 to 35kmh.

Each group is kept to about 20 riders for safety. More groups may be added as numbers grow.
